A haircut and then a bottling room.

We've started a project to renovate and alter part of the old red barn, so that we can have a bottling room for our cider and apple juice. We've got loads of ideas but first of all, we've got to give the place a bit of a hair cut. As you can see from these pictures, its not going to be a ten minute job. We  intend to taking the lot off.

We spent a few hours at it yesterday and when I can, I'll post some pictures to show you what small amount of progress that we've made.
Earlier this morning I took a full trailer load of trimmings up to Dave Hawkeyes, as a donation towards his bonfire in November. There's tons more to come.

I love it from the front.  It looks so pretty.

I think it should be your Cider Selling Room, with some cidery type momentos etc around on the walls, and maybe use it as your bottling room when needed?

We're going to put a wide door in the gable end so that we can bring pallets of bottles straight in. Unfortunately, its all going to have to go.

Can't you leave the front as it is and put the loading door in the side?

There isn't a big enough gap beyween the barn and the corner of the house.
Just over four acres Sandrar.

Progress has been slow but steady. Kaz reckons that so far, we've cleared about 20%.

We'll have to replace most of the tin sheets and the guttering is absolutely kaput. Keep watching this space.

You know those jobs you wish you hadn't started?

Its got to be done mate. The old barn is handily situated for the mains sewers.

I know what you mean
However, the weight of the greenery was likely to cave the roof in
