A good everyday penny pinching sauceBeen studying the recipes and I'm going to have to give some of these a try. Don't know if ya'll have anything like this or not but we use quite a bit of this cause its cheap, easy and a one pan meal.
You can use this sauce for hamburger, chicken, pork or whatever. You can also use it with potatoes, noodles, rice or whatever. In other words its just a good base sauce that you can tweek however you see fit. Seeing all the rabbits I'm thinking it would go awefully well with rabbit and noodles.
2 cups powdered milk
1/2 cup dehydrated onion
3 tablespoons beef or chicken boullion
2 tbs of garlic powder
2 tbs of onion powder
2 tbs of dried parsley
2 teaspoons of cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1 1/2 teaspoons of pepper
Whisk ingredients together until thouroughly combined then place in an airtight jar and store in a cool dry place
When you need to use the sauce just measure out 1/2 cup of sauce mix and add it to 1 1/2 cups of water.
My favorite is 1/2 cup of the sauce added to the 1 1/2 cup water poured over a pound of browned hamburger with some noodles or sliced potatoes with some mushrooms. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
But you can do anything with it. Its very versatile.
