A day out in Angus

I headed out to a bit of land I have in Angus last Saturday.

It's an old railway line and I haven't ferreted it for about a year.

We set up the nets onto the old embankment and only managed to bolt one!

We decided to move to the back field where there was an old tractor track, with plenty of big warrens.

We netted up between 30 to 40 nets and stuck down a couple of ferrets. As you can see from the above pic that I missed this hole with a net

We only managed to bolt the one rabbit in that section. I chinned it,only to find a huge tumour on its side.

I wasn't risking eating it so it got lobbed into the bushes after we finished up for the day.

We move further down the track to catch one more and bolt another one.

With time getting on a bit we packed up and a a wee play in smaller warrens in a neighbouring field.

End of day was 2 caught! One with a dirty big lump and one for the pot. 2 bolters.I wasn't that bothered about the bolters or the amount  as it was a good day out.

That looks like a lot of fun.  I bet your dogs would have a grand time near Brunswick Ga. at high tide.  Beats all I've ever seen for marsh rabbits.  High water pushes them all onto the causeway.
