A bargain

I believe, phone call this morning, old drinking mate, " Are you still doing your garden?"......"yes"
Turns out he is selling a cement mixer, cost £240...a couple of months back.
He now wants £50 for it.
I know the guy well, always buys the 'right' tools for the job, almost fastidious in keeping them clean. He's decided after one use, he has nowhere to store it (more like his missus doesn't want it in the garage..you could eat off the floor in there )
One proviso should he need to use it in future, would I loan it to him.....

It will be delivered this week....   bargain..

Result!

Well done - sounds just the right tool for you, and £50 in today's money is a real bargain

Well I've hired one a couple of times, a week at a time....you got it...it peed down for at least 5 out of 7 days.....gave up and since have mixed as required, not being able to justify spending so much on one item. Especially with the last few months outgoings..
Whats the old saying,' everything comes to those who wait'...

Bargain! But...why does a gardener need a cement mixer?

Its a 'Boys Toy'....

Footings, blocks = walls....slabs and capings for walls.... ...still a boys toy...

I used to use one when I mixed my own potting compost

Just beat me too it, I worked in a commercial flower gardens for my sins once and we use one there for that too. I have one I bought in "mumble mumble" many years ago and use it for small concrete jobs from time to time. That sounds a real bargain

Beats mixing in a barrow.

I dont use my mixer alot, but when I do, its life made easy.

Good Price as well mate.

My bargain, partly assembled.....

All I need to do now is take it down the garden
Rena

Sometimes us ladies just don't know a good thing~ ... on the other hand....I'd be !! Having mixed by hand....yep, def !!

Was thinkin earlier....will ya be considering making your own cement 'pavers'? (They're like fancy cement garden blocks used for 'shaping' sections of ground by bordering)

Finally put it to use....

Tomorrow must order some more sharp sand and cement...

What took 3  days...done and dusted in 3 hours...

Pity it doesn't dig the footings out for me as well.....
