Brilliant Pics PP.
I posted a piece yesterday about a friend who said he had a mate who goes hawking at night in a lamp. Have you heard of or ever done this ?

Yes i have used a lamp for hawking rabbits and is most often done with Harris hawks,Goshawks etc and is the same as useing a running dog/lurcher on the lamp.

Yes the bred exceptionally well last year. it was paddy's first breeding season. 11 chicks from two clutches of eggs.

Geneveve is my friend Peter's, female Red tail hawk, and it his breeding avairy. The clutches were forced by individually removing eggs to an incubator to encourage Geneveve to lay. After all the fertile eggs were removed , dummy eggs were introduced and as the eggs approached hatching the dummies were removed and replaced by the fertile eggs.

Geneveve has not been flown or hunted for 3 years now. But most weekends this winter I removed Padddy, re-trained, flew and hunted him, returning him to Geneveve afterwards. Peter has now put his foot down, and Paddy is back in with Geneveve permently until this year's breeding and rearing season is over.
Last weekend, we chatted about putting 3 or 4 webcams in the avairy and close to the nest ledge. So that we can produce a daily highlights video blog, as the their courting, mating, laying, hatching and rearing progresses this year.
