With the aid of sat nav we managed to find this small company of artisan cheese makers http://www.northumberlandcheese.co.uk/
We were on our way back from our visit to Alnwick Castle and a few miles into our journey we followed some brown information signs to the middle of nowhere.

Inside we were able to see the cheese being made and to acquaint ourselves with some of the amazing varieties of cheeese that they produce. If you have a look at the companies web site, you'll see that they have quite a few different and innervative cheeses in their stable.
Although on a diet, I couldn't resist buying some and here, are the one's that I chose.

I'll be sampling my purchase in the near future as part of a calorie controlled diet of course.
I don't know about you, but I'm very much heartened by the numerous small artisan food producers that our countryside has seen starting up over recent years.
Well done the Northumberland Cheese Company.

Oooh yes - like their stuff, but hard to get down south.

The Nettle cheese is particularly lovely.

Then I would advise you to chew properly before swallowing.

We've broken into my purchases this evening. There were three absolutely stunning cheeses but the goats cheese wasn't really to my taste. I'd certainly buy some more.
