I bred her but Megan is now with Jan her trainer/owner.  He sent me the pics - this one is Job Done!

What he likes very much about her is the ability to smell the rabbits in the burrows.  If Megan indicates it's a 'no show' he doesn't bother to put the ferret in and it saves a lot of time. If it's a yes he puts the ferret in to flush and out pops the rabbit.

Yes, Megan is a Sgurr.  I've got Morag in Holland too, waiting to see how she does, coming up to eight months old but progress so far has been encouraging. One of Sgurr Carnach's pups, just over a year, went to the last couple of shoots of the UK season just finished and did very well in heavy cover; she'll work the full season 2014. For the moment though, it's hip scoring this month for Ria and then hopefully, rabbits, rabbits, rabbits.

I use Sgurr as an avatar on dog sites and Carnach on sites with wider interests. But that's what avatars are for.

Megan, Sgurr na Feartaig is the retiring holder of the Dashhill Bokaal as the final trial was today and the new winner announced:

Owned and trialled by Iain Barnes of Clyde Valley kennels, the 2014/15 holder of the Dashill Bokaal is Sgurr Fuar Tholl whose home name is Morag.

Waiting for a pic when Iain is over his hangover - he's not on this forum so I can say that!
