My wife and I are new to the life of running a smallholding. We now have a five acre plot in North Wales a stones throw from Bodger, yet we have never met. It was our intention to have a couple of pigs to bring on for meat. However we were given two Kune Kune pigs, the sow is 5 years old and the boar the same and he is castrated. There is no scope to breed from them so they have now become pets. It is our intention to buy 2 weaners in early spring we have been told Welsh or Gloucester Old Spots may be the best. We would gladly receive any advice that could be given. We are also on the lookout for any second hand pig arcs.

Thankyou for the warm welcome to the forum.

I have noticed that they put on weight very quickly. Im trying to feed them on fruit and Veg. They seem happy enough. I am now thinking of getting a couple of Welsh weaners.
