Hello everyone,

I've obviously just joined and live on the Isle of Wight. I'm 60 and early-retired. I love most things outdoors, fish, used to shoot and despite two arthritic knees have two allotments, bimble about a fair bit with my equally aged dog and for the first time in many years have moved out of a flat to a bungalow with a garden and along with two on my allotments, a third shed!
I'm obviously into growing veg, but also storing produce, cooking it and will probably spend more time learning than posting anything like advice, but from what I've seen this looks to be an excellent forum and I can't believe I've taken until now to find it!

Thanks for the welcome. .
The username refers to the living on the Island and its tendency to slide about in the underlying "blue slipper" clay with it's attendant landslides, but given my age it's probably apposite there as well!

Thankfully for me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being sixty  A hearty warm welcome to OTG.

To quote a chap of 73 I know, "If I had ever expected to be alive at my age, I'd have taken more care of myself."

Thanks for the welcome.

Hello and it's good to see you here.
Doesn't sound like two arthritic knees are stopping you much
I tell you though, my arthritic joints have really unimproved my vocabulary

Morning Mary. My vocabulary was ample enough before my dodgy knees, but I do use part of it a lot more frequently nowadays....
Oh and thanks for letting me know about this place.
