The expanded lanyard knot can be doubled just line the regular version

Your knots, lanyards and things are really attractive, Asemary.  
It's all beyond me, however.
I haven't got the dexterity or patience to exectue the patterns.
I do appreciate the results though.

Whilst recently on a short break in Dartmouth I saw this for sale and thought of you - so I took a picture:-



I've no idea what its purpose is and at 10 a shot I didn't fancy exploring it either.

Thanks for the kind words.  That is a very attractive Monkey Fist Knot you discovered.  I have made MF's as a key fob.  Tied around a wooden core it will keep a boat key afloat.  That heavy metal shackle would defeat that purpose.  It would make an outstanding luggage I.D.
