Going back about twenty years I ran a general pest control business controlling rats fleas and wasps etc. A large percentage of my work was also taken up with controlling moles with both traps and Strychnine.
At the time Karen was working full time as a physiotherapist and my business fitted in well with me looking after the kids during the school holidays and before and after school.
The use of strychnine has been quite rightly been banned now and trapping is more or less the only way to control moles. As a result, its meant that there are now loads more men and women plying their trade as professional mole catchers and I've decided to rejoin their ranks.
I've sent for a load more traps and I've arranged for some signs to go on the van. I don't intend doing it full time but it should bring in some well needed pocket money. Doing folks moles in gardens is particularly well worth doing.

Good for you pal

A guy I know dose it part time round our way.

I saw him a few weeks back and he told me he makes £150 a morning setting traps, then went on to say how unhappy he was in his joinery job, so I said why don't you mole catch full time as I know loads of folk asking for help getting mole free.

His answer puzzled me, turns out he likes doing it now and again as the crack is good but to do it full time takes all the fun out of it.
Welcome to the real world.

I'm going to send for another 50 of those French Putanges. I'm not going to do many if any farms. Garden moles will do me quite nicely.

The man who does the signs on my van has just to show me a design he's come up with.

The small pig signs are coming off.
I'm a man of few words , so few in fact, that I don't know what wording to put on the new signs that I'm having put on my van.

I've gone for smallish stickers on the van doors of a cartoon type mole popping its head up from a mole hill and yes ! I know its  not particularly original.
I'm thinking short and sweet, with either ' Mole Catching' on the top side of the sticker and then 'Service' beneath it or something fairly similar but even simpler, as in 'Mole' on the top and 'Catcher' beneath it. What do you think?
Are there any other options you can think of ? I definitely feel the need for some inspiration. Help !

I think it is great!  Rather funny though that the mole looks so happy - he obviously does not read English!

Very eye catching    Alfie our lurcher is a good mole catcher but you wouldn't want him as an assistant as he makes more mess than the critters themselves

Do they know who they're dealing with ? I don't think so !

I've been across the far field this afternoon doing some hedging and I can see that a sneaky little mole has had the audacity to creep in and start to do some excavating.
After making Kaz a cup of tea, I'll going  putting my mole catchers cap on and going back across there to sort him out pronto. The little blighter wont know what's hit him.

I'd got my mole by yesterday morning, which really chuffed me.

I'm also pretty chuffed by the new signs that went on my van this morning.

You could have some with pleasure Juli.

I ordered a dollop of business cards from Vista Print last night. They've certainly upped their game since the last time I had cards from them. Their system allowed me to incorporate the logo from my van sign.

With us hoping to move house, I was undecided at to whether or not to use my mobile or the house phone number as a contact but in the end, I thought what the heck ? When we move, they're cheap enough to just re order.
