Richard Meade has died of cancer.
I didn't realise he was 76. I saw him compete many times at Badminton etc.

RIP.

I grew up watching him ride and wishing I had his seat and Eddie Macken's hands....

Such a loss, really feel for his family as they havent had the best of years. He is one of the few eventers to have ever won a double Olympic gold medal. 1 is a feat on its own but to take 2 at the same Olympics is outstanding

A sad loss & a great 3 day eventer. Had the pleasure of meeting him in mid 70s at Badminton
