Meet Lion the Shire on the right and Prince the Irish Draught on the left.

Today I went for a day harvesting with heavy horses at Acton Scott, I hope that you enjoy looking at the pictures and that they give you some idea as to how much I enjoyed my day.

There were four of us on the course and this is Jim, the horseman from the Beamish Museum  who kindly showed us how to go on.

Simon. The waggoner from Acton Scott.

Me.

I wouldn't have missed my day for the world.

Excellent post mate, that is the sort of day I would have enjoyed as much as I'm sure you did.

Any other pics?

Just one more picture. Compared with where we are, the countryside in Shropshire was like a desert. Parched fields and hardly a blade of grass to be seen. The area is desperate for grass.

Have a look at the cracks in the ground in the field that we were working in. We were lucky to have a a harvest to make.

They are great photos and a grand looking day thanks for sharing with us. That ground is dry and looks like it was very wet at one time since planting too
